Rachel, a proud Kiwi, began her career as a veterinary nurse while living in Australia, in the early 2000’s . There, Rachel gained invaluable experience working in both small animal clinics and after-hours emergency veterinary services. In 2008, Rachel returned to New Zealand, taking a break from her nursing career to focus on raising her two young children at the time.
In 2011, Rachel made the return to Veterinary Nursing, seizing an exciting opportunity to work as a casual vet nurse at Auckland Zoo. This quickly led to a permanent position, where she thoroughly enjoyed working for seven years. During her tenure at the Zoo, Rachel had the privilege of caring for a diverse array of exotic and native species, both in the field and in clinic at the New Zealand Centre for Conservation Medicine.
In March 2018, Rachel joined the Vet Nurse Plus team as a Tutor and has recently transitioned to the role of Programme Operations Manager.
Outside of her professional life, Rachel shares her home with her husband and their blended family of four children, along with Elle, their beloved domestic shorthair cat.
